Our Girl Is Growing Up

We did something different for Melody's birthday this year. We didn't want to over do with toys so decided to create family memories and give her a special event weekend. Since she was turning 6, we decided it was time to take her to Six Flags. Her birthday landed on a Friday which is Tony's day off and we let her skip school and go play. It was cold but we bundled up and had a great time at the "Holiday in the park." I wasn't sure how Selah would react to things, but she enjoyed the rides too and we all had a great time.
Then we dropped Melody off with Granny and Grandpa for the rest of the weekend and she enjoyed staying at their house by herself and getting all the attention. They also took her to see a play on Saturday that she was excited about. It was "Madeline's Christmas."
So she was able to have a fun-filled weekend, but it's hard to believe she is getting so big.

Oh, how fun! I bet she'll always remember her 6th b-day!
